I joined Winalite after witnessing a demonstration by my brother-in-law in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At that time, I was visiting my mother who needed some help and resolution for a family matter. There was an impasse and I, being the eldest in the family, had to step in.
Jamaludin, my brother-in-law, first started the business about two years ago. I was, at that time, on a stopover to Singapore, and had no time to see the business. He did tell my daughter who also happened to travel that way and she tried to tell me. My mother was laughing at Jamaludin all that time because, really, in a country like Malaysia where a sizeable portion of the population is conservative Muslims, a man indulging (ie making a living professionally on women’s pads) was simply unheard of.
Not that it was strange for Jamaludin to involve himself in the business. It wasn’t strange because he was married to my sister and my sister Junita was known to have serious cramps when she was having her regular menses.
I wasn’t preview to all of these cramps and even my wife doesn’t have them. But from what I heard, cramps on the onset of menses is really a disturbing if not seriously painful experience. When two years later, Jamaludin told me he had personally known of cases where the cramps disappeared after the women changed to Winalite’s Love Moon Anion pads, I was skeptical. I mean, there are a lot of claims and testimonies out there in the marketing world: could it be real?
Jamaludin proceeded to show me what the product was all about. He didn’t say much, and I guess, after joining Winalite immediately after, there wasn’t really a need to. First, he was a man, and anybody, men and women included would wonder why would a man like him (he is well built and looked really healthy), want to promote and sell women’s pads.
Secondly, of course, isn’t pads really a women’s business so much so men should not even contemplate being in it? Well, I was wrong on all counts.
As I recalled, when the demonstration was complete, I was blown. Two things really struck me: the absorbency and the fact that this thing actually breathes. Wow! I was convinced and the next thing I knew I was chauferred to the head office in Jalan Kelang Lama in Kuala Lumpur, where I saw and met Mr Deffrick Se To, Senior Manager of Operations, Winalite Malaysia. He proceeded to tell me that the Australian market is “only beginning” and “there was a huge potential there especially among Muslim groups”.
It wasn’t difficult then for me to join. I bought some basic literature and three sets of car bumper stickers which when I collected my first order at the Service Centre, Blackburn Road in Mount Waverley, a suburb off Melbourne, Virginia, one of the Centre’s Directors noticed and commented that I had “passion” because this was the first bumper sticker of Winalite she had seen in Australia.
Later, I was to change my car number plates to “Anion” and I can only imagine her “shock” if she were to see it on my car.
Anyway, what is so special about indulging in a women’s private business? More on this on my next entry but for now, I will leave one special picture for all my downlines to see. It is a group photo of Mr Bruce Fang, the President of Winalite Southeast Asia and Oceania region who came by one evening to visit our weekly presentations. I was again, blown by Mr Fang’s presence because not only did he speak my language, which is Malay, he was adamant about speaking in that foreign language when I tried to speak in English.
Mr Fang, I later discovered, was not only non-Malay, nor Malaysian, he is actually Chinese from mainland China. And, to my great surprise, by profession, he is a neurosurgeon whose last practice was in Singapore.
Together in the photo is Mr Bruce Fang and my wife and Winalite Business Partner, Norhidayati at Melbourne’s Winalite Service Centre. Mr, or rather Dr Fang, is in the centre of the photo.
Now, how good can the emerging picture be from now on? More good and positive stories to come soon as I make my entries on my off days from work. The next entry would probably be how this business is actually meant for couples although singles through their network of friends can also profit tremendously. See ya!
If u chk the official website www.winalite.com. Top star like Jackie Chan and Jet Lee also involve, both are coming to Jakarta for special fucntion this Dec 2010.
ReplyDeleteThank you brother JHEM. Please keep us posted of the events just like you did for Maradona and Vincent Chen. My workmates are mostly football fans so when they heard of Vincent Chen shaking hands with Maradona, they started to take Winalite more seriously now.
